Heat Wav Athletics is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit born in Mesa and built for the East Valley. Founded in 2022, we serve approximately 150 young people per season across the greater Phoenix metro area, with a focus on underserved youth and families of color.
Our current operating budget is under $100,000. Every dollar we raise goes directly toward keeping our programs accessible to youth across the East Valley and greater Phoenix metro. Our coaches are supported and our athletes are equipped to succeed on and off the field.

9 ATHLETES AT THE TEAM USA SUMMER SERIES
Nine Heat Wav athletes competed at the Team USA Summer Series, the highest level of youth flag football in the country. Four brought home gold in the USA Select Bowl. One athlete won gold representing Mexico in the International Cup, competing against the best programs in the world as flag football builds toward its Olympic debut at the 2028 Los Angeles Games.

One of our girls was selected to represent Team Mexico in the IFAF Flag Football World Tournament series, one of the top two programs in the world, as flag football prepares for its Olympic debut at the 2028 Los Angeles Games.

Sport is the vehicle. What we build around it is the point. Our development programming prepares athletes for life through education, media, and real-world skills they can use right now.

BRAND BUILDING & NIL EDUCATION
We educate our athletes on name, image, and likeness: what it means, how it works, and how to build a brand that lasts. Athletes learn to present themselves professionally, understand their value, and think like entrepreneurs before they ever reach the next level.

CONTENT CREATION AT THE STUDIO MESA
Through our partnership with The Studio Mesa, athletes learn content creation from the ground up: how to shoot, edit, tell their story, and build an audience. This is arts, culture, and media in action. Real skills. Real output. Professional-grade production in their hands.

MENTAL HEALTH EDUCATION
We talk about mental health openly and without stigma. Athletes receive workshops and resources on emotional wellness, stress management, identity, and resilience. These are the tools that keep high performers healthy off the field as well as on it.

NUTRITION EDUCATION
Peak performance starts with what you put in your body. Our nutrition programming teaches athletes how to fuel properly for training and competition. Those same habits build a foundation for long-term health and discipline.
PILLAR 05
BUSINESS & FINANCIAL LITERACY
We teach athletes how money works: budgeting, saving, investing, and understanding contracts. Whether they go pro or not, every athlete leaves Heat Wav with a basic financial education that most people never receive.
